GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

Innovative waterproofing thermoprotective paint of high reflectivity, based on special 100% acrylic UV-interlocking elastic resins and new technology reflective, heat-insulating beads. It offers flawless final surface, protection from temperature changes, waterproofing and excellent resistance to adverse weather conditions, air pollution and the coastal environment. It offers energy savings due to reduced use of air conditioners or central heating and at the same time contributes to addressing the phenomenon of urban heat island of cities and global climate change, caused by global warming.

SPECIAL FEATURES

According to official measurements carried out by the Center for Renewable Energy Sources & Saving (K.A.R.E.), the product achieves an extremely low coefficient of thermal conductivity, λsp thermo = 0.1317 W/(m.K) (ELOT ΕΝ 12667).

Acrylan Thermoblock is also certified by the University of Athens, Department of Physics, for its properties as a cold material, with the following:

Initial all-spectral reflectivity to solar radiation SR = 0.86 (300-2500nm) (ASTM E 903-96 and ASTM G 159-98)

Emission factor in infrared radiation  ε = 0.87 (ASTM E 408 –71 –2002)

Solar reflectance index SRI = 108 (ASTM E 1980-01)

NUANCES

Available in white and a large number of light cold shades through Vitexs Colorfull Tinting System. For this purpose, only pigments of high durability and reflectivity to solar radiation are used, while the set of shades has been selected so as to achieve a tri-stimulus value of  Y ³ 80 as defined by the International Commission on Illumination (C.I.E.), to achieve  high reflectivity values.

PREPARATORY WORK

The surfaces must be clean, dry and smooth, free of dust, oil or any loose materials.For puttying holes and spatulating any cracks, Acrylic Building Putty is used.Old water-colored surfaces (with lime or glue) are primed with Durovit or Acrylan Unco Eco or Vitosin.New surfaces of plaster, concrete, bricks, etc., as well as spatulated surfaces are primed with Durovit or Acrylan Unco Eco.

APPLICATION

The product is thoroughly stirred before use. It is applied in two or more layers with a roller, brush or airless gun and with 5-10% water for the first layer and without dilution for the second layer. It should not be applied at temperatures below 5oC, higher than 35oC and/or relative humidity above 70% or if there is a risk of rain or frost in the next forty-eight hours.The product is dry to the touch in 2-3 hours and repainted after 6-8 hours. These times vary depending on weather conditions (relative humidity and temperature).The tools are cleaned immediately after use with water and if necessary with soap or detergent.
