HAMMERITE - Direct to Rust Metal Paint Glossy 2,5lt
Hammerite is a specially formulated metal paint for direct to rust application.
It acts as an anticorrosive primer, undercoat and final paint.

Type: Specially modified alkyd resin paint

Application method: Brush, roller, gun.

Thinning: brush application: Ready to use. If dilution is required during application, add up to 3% w/w. HAMMERITE TOOL CLEANER & CLEANER.
Apply with a gun: Up to 15% w/w with HAMMERITE Trowel & Trowel Cleaner.
Yield: 3.5 - 5 m2/L for two coats on properly prepared surfaces.
Drying: To the touch after 1-2 hours. Recoat after 4 hours. These times vary depending on weather conditions (humidity, temperature).
Shades: Glossy: 12 ready-to-use shades | Forged: 9 ready-to-use shades | Satin: 3 ready-to-use shades | Metallic: 6 ready-to-use shades.
Storage: Store at a temperature between 5° C and 40° C. If you do not use all of the product, close the container tightly for next use.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Scrub the surface and remove loose rust, loose residues, dust, grease, salts.
Treatment such as sanding, flame cleaning, etc. of painted surfaces can create hazardous dust and/or fumes. Work in a well-ventilated area.
Always use suitable personal protective equipment.
On galvanised, aluminium and zinc surfaces: Use Hammerite Special Metals Primer.

APPLICATION

Lightly agitate before use. Do not mix shades.
With a brush: Apply 2 thick coats completely covering the corners and edges of the surface. If thinning is required, add up to 3% w/w. Vivechrom Pistol Thinner.
Conventional gun (air): dilute with Vivechrom Pistol Thinner at a rate of 15% w/w.
Set the gun at 25/35 psi at maximum volume.
Apply 4 thin coats, with 1 hour breaks between coats.
